Dinner Recipes

I make and send about 80% of Mountain Man’s dinners. I do my best to avoid processed, expensive pre-dried MREs. I use a Presto dehydrator.

These are Mountain Man approved. I owe a great debt to other hiking food bloggers – links below.

Some suggest separating dried meat from other ingredients; I don’t worry about it since most of the meals I make are eaten within a week or two.

I combine the ingredients in a ziploc freezer bag (tougher than store brand). Mountain Man prepares these meals by adding boiling water to cover, and letting them sit in a cosy for 5-10mins. You could also pre-soak/boil the meals themselves, but his way saves fuel!
